Pixel portals VFX for Godot 4.6 gives you a pack of customizable pixel art portals prefect for your 3D or 2.5D projects!
Features
- Dithering and my special Double Dithering (causing those jagged outline)!
- Parallax depth effect
- Pixelization (define the size of the pixels)
- Pixel-perfect outlines (single or doubles)
- More stylization options and changes between layers: transparency, color, rotation, radius, glow
- Basic animation for open and close
- Small helper script for handling stencil and regular shaders (keeping shader parameters in sync)
- Readme on how to handle the stencil setup and what to keep in mind when customizing the VFX
Versions
The free versions contains all shaders and two example scenes. One for the
very basic portal and one with a basic stencil buffer setup.
The
paid version includes 3 pixel art textures for the portal effects and two
additional scenes with 18 presets with varying setting. The paid version also
supports me in making more pixel art VFXs!

I've been looking into how to acheive an effect similar to these in my current project and just happened to see your Instagram post while scrolling at 2am. This is the exact starting point I needed!
You just saved me hours of trial and error since I am not very experienced with shaders, thank you!
(Now i just need to update to 4.6 lol)
